Treatment of type II diabetes mellitus: as monotherapy for patients (especially overweight patients) and contraindications and metformin intolerance in case of inadequate control of blood sugar levels by diet and exercise; in the form of double combination therapy with metformin in patients (especially overweight patients) with insufficient glycemic control, despite the use of the maximum tolerated dose of metformin; sulfonylurea derivatives only in patients with intolerance and contraindications to metformin with insufficient glycemic control, despite the use of the maximum tolerated dose of sulfonylurea derivatives; in the form of triple combination therapy with metformin and sulfonylurea derivatives in patients (especially overweight patients) with insufficient glycemic control, despite the use of dual combination therapy. Glutazone® is also indicated in combination with insulin for type II diabetes mellitus in patients with insufficient glycemic control when using insulin for whom metformin is contraindicated or who are intolerant to metformin.
