As an addition to the diet for the treatment of patients: with high levels of total cholesterol, LDL-C (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, in order to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous familial and non-hereditary hypercholesterolemia), combined (mixed) hyperlipidemia (Fredricksonian type IIa and IIb), elevated serum triglycerides (Fredricksonian type IV), patients with dysbetalipoproteinemia (Fredricksonian type III) in cases where the diet does not provide the proper effect. To lower total cholesterol and LDL-C in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, when diet and other non-pharmacological agents do not provide the desired effect. Patients without clinical manifestations of cardiovascular disease, with or without dyslipidemia, but who have several risk factors for cardiovascular disease, in order to prevent cardiovascular complications. The drug is also used in children 10-17 years old with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia in pediatric practice.
